the wrong stamp

How much? The Royal Mail used to have their own ‘to pay’ stamps for when not enough postage was applied so you could see how much surcharge was needed when it got to the other end. I just wondered if I got one of these from a stamp dealer mint and un-franked and used that instead of normal stamp what would they do. Did they frank it? Yes they just cancelled it with a surcharge frank instead!
